Today was a full and exciting day in Lyon, filled with culture, great food, and unique experiences. Our adventure began early in the morning as we took the train from Villefranche to Lyon. Despite the early hour, the anticipation of discovering the city kept our energy high.

Our first destination was the upper part of Lyon, where we visited the Musée Lugdunum (formerly known as the Gallo-Roman Museum). Located on the Fourvière hill, the museum is built into the side of the hill itself and offers stunning views of the surrounding city. Inside, we explored a rich collection of Roman artifacts, including mosaics, statues, and ancient inscriptions that told the story of Lyon’s origins as the Roman city of Lugdunum. One of the highlights was a creative workshop where the kids got to design their own monsters and transfer them onto metallic sheets—a fun and imaginative activity that brought ancient myths to life in a modern way.

For lunch, we headed to Le Musée, a cozy and traditional bouchon Lyonnais. The restaurant offered classic Lyonnaise dishes, full of flavor and warmth. It was a great opportunity to taste the local cuisine and enjoy the authentic ambiance of the city.

In the afternoon, we relaxed on a scenic cruise along the Saône River, heading toward Île Barbe, a small, picturesque island with a long and fascinating history. The boat ride gave us a different perspective of the city, with beautiful views of Lyon’s riverside architecture and lush landscapes.

It was a day filled with learning, creativity, and unforgettable moments. Lyon’s mix of history, culture, and charm truly made it a day to remember.
